More than a spring day seems like a summer day. Are 08.30 and already the thermometer marks +23 . Today I take advantage of the " courtesy " of his friend Fabrizio for quite a ride in the land of Sicily with a brand new 1200 GS a blast! After a good croissant and coffee quickly leave the chaos of the city and headed for Termini Imerese and from there take the SS285 in the direction of Caccamo . The castle dominates the valley and across the country. I continue on the SS121 through bucolic landscapes . All around the huge expanses of yellow flowers, red, orange and green fields as far as the eye can see. The air is impregnated with an intense smell of odorous broom with the typical yellow color . Its scent will make me company along the way . The temperature of 27.5 marks ! A flock of sheep is cool in the shade of a large tree. The scenery is really beautiful and I am forced to stop several times to take some photos and enjoy the magnificence of these places. Come near Enna leave the SS121 and headed for Lake Nicoletti on SP39 . Shortly after I arrive at the entrance to an amazing place the Natural Reserve of Monte Altesina http://www.riserveenna.it/MonteAltesina.aspx which is characterized by a thick forest of holm oaks. A short unmade road leading to the visitor center and a wide area for the picnic , from which depart several trails for leisurely nature walk . From the top of the mountain you can admire a vast panorama that sweeps from the Madonie Mountains, Mount Etna , Mount La Guardia. Really a great place . Through a tortuosissima road I come to Enna for the lunch hour . Unfortunately, on Monday all the premises are closed and I have to postpone lunch. I take this opportunity to visit the Granfonte . It is a monumental trough built in 1649 by Prince Nicholas Branciforti better known by locals as the " ventiquattru cannola " because of the 24 bronze pour spouts constantly drinkable water into the basin below . From the arches that characterize you can enjoy a very nice view over the plain below . After a freshen up to get some ' relief from the scorching sun I go on the SS117 towards Nicosia. Still colorful meadows and majestic Mount Etna to make his protagonist at every turn . In Nicosia, luckily I find a restaurant serving it's " Locandiera" via S. Antonio Abate , Phone 0935633694 7 cell . 3381428101 run by two of the nicest girls where a motorcyclist ! A true local goodness the starter , the turnovers with ricotta and pistachios and millesfoglie homemade ! After the inevitable coffee it starts to Sperlinga with its majestic castle partly excavated on the rock and then Gangi and follow Geraci Siculo. The views are breathtaking and the road is a " frenzy " of curves but the best is yet to come the stretch of the SS286 between Castelbuono and Geraci is a real " pleasure " motorcycle ! The road crosses a section of the Madonie Park full of ashes from which we derive the Manna http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manna_ (gastronomy ) , a typical Sicilian product that is used among other things in tasty panettone castelbuono and that is growing in a small area of Sicily between Castelbuono and Pollina . The trees carved from reddish color, stand out among the fragrant yellow gorse which covers the whole of the territory. The result is just lovely. Finally I come to the seaside village of Cefalu, pearl of the Madonie . The beautiful day and the scorching sun has led many binder to bathe in long beach . I take this opportunity to relax a bit ' in the sun before returning home. To the next.
